Visitor Housing Construction Begins!

Visitors to Esperanza Viva Youth Home in Puebla will soon stay on campus with the children!

Construction of the permanent housing for short-term missions (STM) teams and La Viña Practical Ministry Training Center students began in early January 2012.

The new building will allow us to host larger short-term missions teams and provide increased safety and comfort for our visitors and ministry school students since they will all be lodging on-site at the Living Hope Community.

STM teams will make the most of the first floor, while the students live on the second floor. Each floor has separate entrances for the men´s and women´s dorms for greater privacy.

A feature that the staff is excited about is “Missions Hall,” a third-floor meeting room large enough for the staff and children to spend time together with our visitors and students for worship nights and other indoor gatherings.

We did not plan the visitor housing as part of our Phase Two construction efforts, but a kindhearted benefactor offered half of the funds for the building if we could find a single donor to match the gift. After months of prayer, a generous friend of the ministry stepped forward to meet the challenge!

Construction is estimated to take five months from groundbreaking, so we hope to have the visitor house ready to accommodate most of our short-term missions visitors this summer.
